How to watch Microsoft E3 2018 livestream

Like Sony and a plethora of other AAA publishers, Microsoft is headed to E3 2018 this year and will showcase upcoming games via a pre-show press conference. While last year’s E3 event was mainly focused on the high-end Xbox One X, Microsoft is rumoured to focus more on software with a huge list of upcoming games including the highly anticipated Crackdown 3. Here’s when the Microsoft E3 2018 livestream is due to take place, how you can watch it from home and what to expect from Microsoft this year.

When will the Microsoft E3 2018 livestream take place?

Despite E3 2018 not officially kicking off until 12 June, the Microsoft press conference will take place on 10th of June.

It is going to start at 10pm BST (1pm PT) for those of us in the UK, and while that sounds late, be thankful that it’s not Sony’s 2am BST press conference!

Can I watch the livestream from home?

Though E3 takes place in Los Angeles every year, Microsoft fans will be able to watch the Xbox-themed press conference from home. This is thanks to a Microsoft-hosted livestream, and as announced by the company, those interested can head to the Microsofr YouTube or Twitch channels. We’ll also embed the livestream on this article, so if it’s easier for you, simply head back here at 10pm BST on 10 June 2018 to find out all the latest Microsoft news.

What to expect from Microsoft’s E3 2018 showcase

To compete with the plethora of first-party games due to be showcased at E3 2018 by Sony, Microsoft has to really pull it out of the bag.

The games most likely to make an appearance include:

Crackdown 3

This game was announced all the way back in 2016 with a promise of a 2017 release date, though it got pushed back again at last year’s E3. Hopefully, we get a release date and not be told it’s going to be pushed back again. Crackdown 3 is an open world game with a fully destructible environment. It’s set in a third-person view and essentially allows you to be a superhero.

You can go about and destroy any building you see. You could destroy it from the top and watch it disappear or you can destroy it from the bottom and watch the building crumble down and knock down other buildings.

Forza Horizon 4

Following the success of Forza 7 and Forza Horizon 3, all eyes are on Forza Horizon 4. It hasn’t been given a release date yet but rumours suggest it could be announced during Microsoft’s livestream.

For those unaware, Forza Horizon is a racing game with a wide verity of different cars and locations. It has been rumoured that this one could be set in either the UK or Japan.

Sea of Thieves

While Sea of Thieves was released back in March 2018, we think that Microsoft will take the opportunity to announce upcoming DLC for the game. Rare has confirmed that there will be three large pieces of DLC released for the game in 2018, and with very little information on what they could include, E3 2018 would be the perfect place to showcase them.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

This is a puzzle game where you take on the role of Ori, a white spirit guardian.

To progress with the game the player has to navigate between platforms and must complete tasks to complete the puzzles that lay ahead.

The player can save when they want to using the in-game feature called “Soul links”, and there’s also an upgrade feature that allows the player to improve Ori’s skills.

It’s certainly an interesting concept, and we expect to see more gameplay and a release date given at E3 2018.
