Deadpool 2: First Look at Cable

Meet Nathan Summers.

Ryan Reynolds has offered us the first full look at Josh Brolin’s take on Cable for Deadpool 2[2]. Posted on Twitter[3], it’s looking like a relatively faithful take on the time-travelling future-warrior: We got a tease of Brolin (who also plays Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but won’t mention it[4]) being transformed into Cable in June[5] – these are the results.

Director David Leitch has previously discussed what it is that Brolin brings to the role[6], aside from his imposingly craggy face: “he brings a humanity to Cable, but he also has the depth of acting chops to hang with the comedy when needed. He’s bringing that character to life in the short 12 days we’ve been shooting and I couldn’t be happier.” Deadpool 2’s been teasing its new characters rather a lot recently – we got our first look at Zazie Beetz’s Domino[7] only a week ago.

We’ll be getting a lot more teases than this presumably – Deadpool 2 is scheduled for release in 2018.
