McShane as Al Swearengen in HBO’s Deadwood IGN has reached out for comment regarding McShane’s casting, and will update this story in the event we receive a response.

In addition to his Golden Globe winning performance as Al Swearengen in Deadwood, McShane stars as Mr. Wednesday in American Gods. The actor has appeared in a number of films as well, including both John Wick movies and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen[3] will be directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent) and is scheduled to being filming this September[4]. According to Harbour, the reboot will have “darker tone” and serve as “more of a character piece.” For more on the upcoming R-rated[5] Hellboy reboot, check out the film’s debut promo art[6], as well as our rundown of the 9 things we want to see in Rise of the Blood Queen[7].
