Best Black Friday 2016 laptop deals UK: Price cuts on Apple, Dell and Lenovo laptops coming soon

It’ll soon be among us, and Black Friday 2016 looks set to be the biggest yet. You best prepare your wallets, as there’ll be plenty of awesome laptop deals heading your way very soon.

We’ve taken a look back on Black Friday deals gone by, to help give you an indication on the savings you can expect, as well as discuss some potential surprises we might hopefully see during the course of the weekend and Cyber Monday too. Here are the best laptop deals you can expect on Black Friday 2016.

Find out 2016’s best laptops[1]

Black Friday 2016: Apple

Last year, we saw decent price drops for a bunch of Apple products, from iPhones to iPads the spotlight was heavily on the tech giant. In 2015 we saw a £50 reduction in price on the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and regular MacBook along with savings on iMacs and Mac Pros too.
[2][3][4]

Apple Macbook 2016

You can expect pretty much exactly the same this year, perhaps with an even bigger price drop. Considering we should – if rumours are to be believed, be getting a fancy new MacBook Pro fairly soon, so you’d think retailers would want to get rid of old stock as sharpish as possible. Keep an eye out, it could be an awesome Apple Black Friday this year.

Black Friday 2016: Dell

You’ll usually have to stick around for Cyber Monday, which follows Black Friday, for the best tech deals, though. Last year we saw the Dell Inspiron i7559 gaming laptop drop to just below £1,000 on Amazon and the slightly more affordable Latitude E5450 stoop to £590 on Ebuyer.

Considering we’ve recently seen a bunch of new Dell Alienware gaming laptops hit the market too, we should see them get at least a little bit cheaper over the weekend. So far, it doesn’t look like anything in the Dell XPS range[5] has seen a reduction in price over recent years, but hopefully Black Friday 2016 will change that.

Black Friday 2016: Lenovo

Lenovo has released some new refreshes to its Yoga 500[7] line recently, and we can expect to see some nifty price drops here. Last year’s Yoga 500 went on sale for just £350 on Black Friday, so fingers crossed we’ll see the same reduction treatment this time around too.

There’s also the futuristic Lenovo Yoga Book to consider too, a fancy 2-in-1 hybrid with an e-ink keyboard and proper paper notepad integration. It’s a futurologist’s dream, and it’ll be great if we get at least a slight price reduction over the course of the weekend.

Black Friday 2016: Chromebooks

Let’s not forget about Chromebooks though, the super cheap alternative to Windows-based laptop devices. A price reduction on something that’s already pretty low-cost to begin with will be very welcome.

Considering that Black Friday last year saw a lot of Chromebooks from Acer, Toshiba and the like drop below £200, you should have plenty of money leftover to splurge on other things on offer on Black Friday.

Here’s the definitive list of the best Chromebooks in 2016[8]

PlayStation 4

Deal price: £200

Now that PlayStation 4 is getting both an upgraded version in the PS4 Pro[1] and a skinner model in the PS4 Slim[2], we’re starting to see a drastic reduction in price with the first model. Sure, it’s a little chunky and heavy, but it still does the job in 2016, games such as Uncharted 4 and the Witcher 3 look phenomenal and play really well and there are some great exclusives such as Horizon: Zero Dawn on the horizon too. Now’s a great time to pick up a PS4 on the cheap, so if you aren’t after the shiniest new versions, this is the one to get. Want to know if the PS4 still holds up in 2016? Read our updated PS4 review[3] to find out.

Motorola Moto G (3rd Gen)

Deal price: £120

We loved the 3rd Gen Moto G smartphone when we reviewed it last year. No one does budget smartphones better than Motorola and while it’s now been superseded by the G4, the G3 is still a wonderfully priced device. We actually prefer the 3rd Gen over the latest; it has a better screen, better battery life and is slightly faster too. Considering the 16GB storage version is now at the lowest price it’s ever been, this is definitely a steal. Want to know what we thought of the Moto G? Read our review[4].

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition

Deal price: £14

You get a lot of content for the relatively low price you pay here, with the ultimate edition of Diablo 3 coming packaged with the excellent Reaper of Souls expansion too. This old-school RPG is brilliant, with its dungeon crawler roots making a welcome return. This deal only applies to the PS4 version I’m afraid, although the Xbox One version is only a few quid more. Here’s what we thought of Diablo III[5] and the Reaper of Souls expansion[6].

Libratone Zipp Mini wireless speaker

Deal price: £149

For a wireless 360-degree speaker, the Libratone Zipp Mini is great, and now that it’s cheaper than ever, there’s no better time to pick one up. It’s much more portable than it’s bigger brother, the standard Zipp[7], it’s a wonderful alternative and great to take around with you on the go. It’s a wonderfully versatile multiroom speaker and with Soundspace Link it’s made even better. Read our Libratone Zipp Mini review[8] for more details.

Powercore 5000 Portable Charger

Deal price: £11

In this ever expanding Pokemon Go world we’re living in, we’re always trying to squeeze that extra bit of juice out of our smartphones. Pair that with the fact you might be buying an iPhone 7 very soon, and you’ll likely to want to extend the 13-hour battery life if you’re away from the plug socket for a significant amount of time. This cheap 5,000mAh portable battery will help solve your battery draining problems.
