Westworld Artist Announces Switch, PC Game for 2018

Set for a Q1 2018 release.

We Are Fuzzy has announced Sleep Tight, an arcade-style, twin-stick shooter that tasks players with building the perfect pillow fort and defend their childhood bedroom from monsters, for a Q1 2018 release on Switch and PC. Sleep Tight comes from a team including Maxx Burman, the Creative Director behind Westworld’s opening credits[2], and an artist who has contributed to productions from Game of Thrones[3] to Far Cry 5 to Titanfall to Iron Man 3. He worked in concert with Disney character artist Dylan Ekren (Zootopia) abd Ubisoft designer Oscar Mar (Far Cry) to bring the game to life.

Check out eight minutes of gameplay below:

Sleep Tight’s setup is easy to pick up and intentionally more difficult to master. As a kid defending your room, players must build up the proper defenses during the day while tearing through adorable-yet-nightmarish creatures at night. (They’re not too scary of course. There’s a clear, bright Pixar influence on the design of the game and its creatures, as shown during an extended demo to IGN.)

A mix of tower defense — but your room is a blank canvas on which you can build your defenses however you choose — and top-down shooter, Sleep Tight aims to evoke all of the fun and creativity of childhood, as well as all the fun that similar games of the arcade era brought to life. Players progress through each day and night, building up their defenses, restocking ammo and supplies, and ensuring each nightly battle can be survived.

“After 10 years of working on other people’s projects, it was time to make my own, and I wanted to go back to that feeling of pure play,” Burman said in a statement accompanying the game’s announcement. “I feel fortunate to work with such talented artists to bring this Pixar-esque world to life. I think it’s an experience that will appeal to the young at heart, no matter their age.”
