All month long, IGN First is spotlighting the Films to Watch in 2018[2]. Today, we take a look at Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time, Ava DuVernay’s adaptation of the seminal Madeleine L’Engle sci-fi/fantasy novel, which assembles an all-star cast including Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, in addition to newcomer Storm Reid. With just under two months to go until Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time[3] finally hits theaters, IGN is excited to debut three brand new character posters for the upcoming film.

The posters showcase stars Storm Reid, Chris Pine and Mbatha-Raw as the core family at the center of the film, the Murrys. Take a look at the exclusive images below: The 2018 fantasy adventure follows Reid as main character Meg Murry, a young girl who gets swept away on an unexpected journey into alternate dimensions on a mission to bring home her father (Chris Pine), who mysteriously disappeared after conducting an experiment.

Along the way, she meets a trio of guardian angels : Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey), Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon) and Mrs.

“My overall vision for the film is to create with a fantastic team of artists and craftspeople something visually stunning, something that reverberates within you when you see it, something that sticks to your ribs,” director Ava DuVernay said in the new behind-the-scenes featurette, “Realizing A Wrinkle in Time.”[4] “We’re putting a lot of different ingredients in there. Hopefully our recipe is delicious.”

Based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic, Duvernay’s A Wrinkle in Time is an epic adventure that examines the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.
