2 New Marvel-Sony Movies Set for 2020 Release

The most likely culprits? A Symbiote and a Vampire.

Two new Sony/Marvel films are currently set to hit movie theaters in 2020. A representative from Sony told IGN a currently “untitled Sony/Marvel” film will hit the big screen on July 10 of 2020, and an “untitled Sony/Marvel sequel” is set to arrive in theaters on Oct.

2, 2020.

Although neither film has been officially named, it would make sense for the first to be Jared Leto’s standalone Morbius film, which is currently set to begin filming early next year. Morbius will be directed by Daniel Espinosa and produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach. The October 2020 release is likely to be a sequel to the popular Venom standalone film, which hit theaters in the US this October, raking in over £780 million worldwide, although no Venom sequel has been announced.

Black Cat, Silver Sable, Kraven the Hunter, and Silk are reportedly set to receive their own films in the future as well.

Venom performed exceptionally well at the box office, even outperforming the original release of Star Wars (not adjusted for inflation). Check out our review of Venom for more on the fan-favorite symbiote’s first solo film appearance. Brian Barnett is an IGN freelance writer.
