How to watch the Davis Cup Final

This weekend sees the final weekend of Davis Cup tennis action for 2018, featuring the World Group final between Croatia and defending champions France in Lille. Here’s how to watch along live in the UK or US either on TV or streaming online, with all the crucial match info. The final takes place 23-25 November, in a best-of-five format split between singles and doubles rubbers.

Here are the current match plans – though this is subject to change across the weekend:

Friday

Jeremy Chardy vs Borna Coric

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga vs Marin Cilic

Saturday

Pierre-Hugues Herbert & Nicolas Mahut vs Ivan Dodig & Mate Pavic

Sunday

Jeremy Chardy vs Marin Cilic

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga vs Borna Coric

How to watch in the UK

Perhaps surprisingly, there’s actually no official UK broadcaster for the Davis Cup final this year, so it’s a bit trickier to watch along live than normal.

One option is to use a VPN to simply watch the coverage from France – though you’ll have to put up with commentary in French. The tournament is airing on France TV over there, which you’ll be able to watch online if you use a VPN to appear to be based in France yourself. Our usual VPN recommendation is NordVPN, but take a look at the rest of our VPN chart if you want other options.

Remember that since it’s Black Friday weekend there’ll be plenty of discounts, so this is a great time to invest in a slightly longer subscription if you’re tempted!

The other option is to watch online with a subscription to the official Davis Cup online player (which also lets you watch the women’s Fed Cup). That’ll cost you EUR4.99 to watch the France vs Croatia tie or EUR39.99 to watch every Davis Cup and Fed Cup match over the next 12 months. If you’re considering the 12-month option, bear in mind that the format of the Davis Cup is changing in 2019.

Instead of ties throughout the year, there will now be one week-long, 18-team tournament in November 2019, so there’s arguably much less value to the annual pass this time around.

How to watch in the US

The final will air on the Tennis Channel in the US, so that will probably be the easiest way to watch along live. Remember that matches will take place during the afternoon in France, so will air in the morning in the US. Alternatively you can watch online with a subscription to the official Davis Cup online player (which also lets you watch the women’s Fed Cup).

That’ll cost you EUR4.99 to watch the France vs Croatia tie or EUR39.99 to watch every Davis Cup and Fed Cup match over the next 12 months.
