Billy Crystal, John Goodman Return for Monsters, Inc. Disney+ Series

John Ratzenberger, Jennifer Tilly and Bob Peterson will also be returning.

Monsters at Work, an animated sequel series based on Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., is coming to the Disney+ streaming service, with Billy Crystal and John Goodman reprising their roles as Mike and Sulley.

The series, which is set to premiere in 2020, will once again take place in the city of Monstropolis. The Monsters, Inc. power plant is now harvesting laughter from children instead of screams, generating ten times more energy in the process.

The series will introduce new monsters alongside several returning favorites, such as John Ratzenberger’s Yeti, Jennifer Tilly’s Celia Mae, and Bob Peterson as Roze, the twin sister of the original film’s Roz. Monsters at Work follows Ben Feldman’s Tylor Tuskmon, an eager and talented young mechanic on the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team who dreams of working his way up to the factory Laugh Floor to work alongside his idols Mike and Sulley.

Kelly Marie Tran will play Val Little, Tylor’s lifelong and confidant. Henry Winkler will play Fritz, a scatterbrained boss. Lucas Neff plays Duncan, an opportunistic plumber. Alanna Ubach plays Cutter, an officious rule follower. Stephen Stanton portrays Smitty and Needleman, a bumbling custodial team. Lastly, Aisha Tyler voices Tylor’s mom, Millie Tuskmon.

Monsters at Work is being produced by Disney Television Animation with executive producer Bobs Gannaway and producer Ferrell Barron. Kat Good and Rob Gibbs are set to direct.

Exit Theatre Mode

Disney+ is set to launch sometime in late 2019, and will reportedly include the “entire Disney motion picture library.” Other original series coming to Disney+ include the anticipated Star Wars series The Mandalorian from Jon Favreau, a Loki series starring Tom Hiddleston, and more.
