Preacher Cancelled: Ending After Season 4

The final season will premiere on August 4.

AMC’s Preacher, based off the comic book series of the same name, will officially end after Season 4.

Announced by executive producer Seth Rogen on social media, a brief video was uploaded that contained the message “The end is now. Preacher final season. 8/4.” In Rogen’s caption for the Instagram post, he wrote “The fourth and final season of Preacher is coming. It’s been a wild ride. Thank you all.”

Preacher follows Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), an unconventional preacher who gains powers during a crisis of faith. The show’s critical reception has progressively increased upon each new season, though its viewership has steadily declined.

In our review of Season 3’s final episode, The Light Above, we called it “Amazing” saying it “… captured Preacher at its most delightfully zany and its most tragic.”
