Motorola One Pro release date: Everything we know so far

We may have just seen the first glimpse of the Motorola Plus One, a smartphone that potentially has a quad camera design and teardrop notch in the display. This news comes from a leak by the website CashKaro, who published press renders of the phone’s design.

As the image above shows, the quad-camera setup will have a two-by-two adjacent design on the rear of the phone. This unusual design is definitely something to pay attention to.

Other than what CashKaro has revealed, however, we know frustratingly little about this upcoming Moto phone. If you’re still keen to learn about Motorola’s rumored new phone, though, you’re already in the right place. Here’s what we know so far about the Motorola One Pro.

Motorola One Pro: Everything you need to know

Motorola One Pro release date: When it’s coming out?

Soon. Maybe. It’s not exactly clear when it’ll hit the market, if we’re being honest. All we have to go on is the CashKaro article which leaked the overall look of the Motorola One Pro and its quad-camera design.

In that same article, author Niharika claims that “while the dates for the phone’s announcement are under covers”, we should expect an announcement officially revealing the phone soon. For now, that’s all we have to go on, but when we hear something more concrete we will make sure to keep you updated.

Motorola One Pro price: How much will it cost?

While it would be easy to shrug our shoulders and call it a day, that would probably be unprofessional, so instead we can look at the original Motorola One phone and try and get a rough idea of how much the One Pro will cost.

Making use of the ‘Pro’ moniker, it’s likely to be an improved and premium version of the Motorola One, which released in 2018 and sold for £269. Knowing that, it wouldn’t surprise us to see the One Pro cost more than the Motorola One. Besides that, there’s not much else to go on at the moment.

Motorola One Pro design: What does it look like?

Thanks to CashKaro, not only do we have rendered images of the Motorola One Pro, we also have some specifics to work with, as well. According to the leak, the phone will have a 6.2-inch display and will approximately be 158.7x75x9.8mm, which includes the quad-rear camera bump. This would make it larger than the original Motorola One.

It will also “feature a 3.5MM audio jack and a USB Type-C charging port at the bottom of its frame”. Finally, the right side of the frame is where you will find the volume and power buttons and a SIM tray will be located on the upper side of the phone’s frame.

Motorola One Pro specs: What’s inside?

For now, we don’t know. While the CashKaro article provided us with images of the Motorola One Pro, it didn’t reveal anything about the phone’s specifications. While this is unfortunate, if CashKaro is to be believed, Motorola themselves should be announcing the device soon, so hopefully we will learn more then.

Motorola One Pro features: What does it do?

According to CashKaro, the Motorola One Pro will come equipped with a protruding quad-camera rectangular camera array design on the rear of the phone, and a teardrop-shaped notch will sit in the top edge of the display, much like that of the OnePlus 7. However, we don’t know any more about the phone’s potential features or capabilities.

While we could draw comparisons with the original Motorola One for some potential insight, we’ve already seen a substantial departure with the One Pro’s unique camera setup. For now, all we can do is wait for the supposed imminent announcement by Motorola that was promised in the CashKaro leak.

Motorola One Pro: Early verdict

Based on the concept of the phone’s camera design alone, the Motorola One Pro is noteworthy. There’s still much we don’t know about the device but when we reviewed the Motorola One in 2018, we definitely saw room for improvement, as much as we were impressed by it. Hopefully, with the release of Motorola One Pro, some of those issues will be ironed out and improved upon when it finally hits store shelves.
