Star Wars Hotel at Disney World Is Named Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

Disney has revealed that the Star Wars hotel/experience at the Walt Disney World Resort will be called Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a “new, first-of-its-kind vacation experience where guests will check in for a two-night adventure aboard a glamorous starship.”Announced by Disney the night before its D23 Expo begins in Anaheim, CA, guests can look forward to interacting with characters and “become active participants in stories that unfold around them on their galactic journey.”

The starship’s name that guests will be living on during their stay at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is the Halcyon and it is part of the Chandrila Star Line.

Chandrila is a planet in the Star Wars universe that is actually the homeworld and birthplace of Ben Solo, who later in his life becomes Kylo Ren. Mon Mothma is also from Chandrila and represented her homeworld in the Senate of the Galactic Republic. Furthermore, Chandrila served as the capital of the New Republic for a short time following the Battle of Endor.

Inside the Disney Parks “Imagining Tomorrow, Today” pavilion at the D23 Expo, visitors will be able to see a scale model of the Halcyon, and also see how it compares to the Millennium Falcon.

There is no word yet as to when Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will open in Orlando, FL, or how much it will cost to secure a spot on the starship. Hopefully, more details will be revealed this weekend during the D23 Expo.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser was unveiled back in 2017 and will be another immersive Star Wars experience to accompany Galaxy’s Edge, which opens on August 29, 2019, at Walt Disney World Resort.
