How to watch Arsenal vs Chelsea for free: Live stream the FA Cup Final 2020

London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea will lock horns at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 1 August 2020 in this year’s FA Cup Final. The game will take place inside an empty London stadium that has become the “new normal” for sporting events across the globe.

The Gunners and The Blues are the two biggest London football clubs to be managed by two former players, both of whom are looking for the first piece of silverware in their tenure. Coincidentally, both teams knocked out the two biggest Manchester-based clubs to progress to the final.

The 139th Final of the FA Cup will feature two of the most successful teams in the tournament; Arsenal have won the competition a record 13 times, while Chelsea are in third place with eight wins. The last time these two sides faced off in the FA Cup Final was in 2016-2017 – a game that Arsenal won 2-1.

Kickoff starts at 5:30pm on Saturday and UK viewers have multiple ways to watch the game. BBC One and BBC iPlayer will be broadcasting the game for free, and you can also watch live coverage of the game on BT Sport 1. Those living in the US can watch live coverage of the game on ESPN+.

In the FA Cup semi-final that took place two weekends ago, Mikel Arteta got the better of his former mentor Pep Guardiola as Arsenal defeated Manchester City 2-0. Meanwhile, Chelsea put an end to Manchester United’s unbeaten streak this year, winning 3-1 in a dominant display from start to finish.

Both teams then concluded their Premier League campaigns last week, with Chelsea finishing fourth and Arsenal finishing eighth. The gunners are therefore out of both the Champions League and Europa League next season; perhaps not a bad thing, as the club is undergoing a transition period under Arteta, who was – in all fairness – employed mid-season after a string of disappointing results.

After Saturday’s final, Chelsea will have exactly a week to prepare for their second-round Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich whom they lost 3-0 to in the opening leg. Arsenal were knocked out of the Europa League earlier this year by Greek unit Olympiacos, so their 2019-2020 campaign effectively ends on Saturday.
