You get the movie on 4K Blu-ray as well as regular Blu-ray and an HD digital copy. The 4K disc supports HDR10 and is a “newly remastered” version, meaning it’s not just an upscaled 1080p source, but true 4K.

The package also includes a Blu-ray of the movie, as well as the special features. Both the 4K and Blu-ray versions of the movie have Japanese and English audio tracks, and you can watch with English subtitles if that’s what you’re into.

As far as plot goes, if you’re unfamiliar with the story of the original Final Fantasy VII, this movie might be a little confusing. Some would argue even if you ARE familiar with the plot, it’s a little confusing, but that’s totally fine. The “Complete” edition designator means both the 4K and HD versions are the proper director’s cut, with 26 minutes of footage not found in the theatrical release.
