Panasonic already announced its flagship LZ2000 model back at CES in January, but the firm has now unveiled its full line-up of OLED and Core LED TVs for 2022.

The new range is available in sizes from 42- up to 77in that come with advancements in brightness, colour, HFR (high frame rate) and VRR (variable refresh rate).

Starting with the OLED range, the flagship LZ2000 is joined by the LZ1500, LZ1000, LZ980 and LZ800. The top two use Panasonic’s Master OLED Pro panel, while the LZ1000 gets Mater OLED and the remaining models are regular OLED.

Panasonic said: “All 2022 OLED models have been custom engineered by Panasonic to deliver even higher peak brightness in True Cinema, Cinema, Filmmaker, and Professional modes. Furthermore, the colour volume for blues has been improved while still retaining high-precision reproduction of various gradations, thanks to Panasonic’s HCX Pro AI Processor.”

The entire OLED range benefits from Game Mode Extreme, meaning you get features including HDMI 2.1 with 120Hz at 4K as well as VRR (variable refresh rate). This helps to avoid unwanted effects like judder and tearing.

A new feature called Game Control Board collects game settings and information and puts them in an overlay, making them easier to access. All OLED models also support Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode.

Here are the details for each OLED model:

  • LZ2000 Master OLED Pro (55, 65, 77in)
  • LZ1500 Master OLED Pro (42, 48, 55, 65in)
  • LZ1000 Master OLED (55, 65in)
  • LZ980 OLED (42, 48, 55, 65in)
  • LZ800 OLED (42, 48, 55, 65in – UK only)
Panasonic LX800 LED TV

Panasonic Core LED

Although we don’t have prices for any of the new Panasonic TVs yet, the Core LED range will be more affordable than the above OLED sets.

Panasonic says these are great choices for daytime gaming and viewing, with the LX940 coming with an HDR Cinema Pro display. The largest three LX800 (above) sizes get a regular HDR Cinema Display, while the smallest two get a Bright Panel Plus.

“Fitted with the HCX Processor Pro AI (LX940) and HCX Processor (LX800), the Core LED series delivers high colour accuracy and outstanding contrast.”

Gamers will want to choose the LX940 for its HDMI 2.1 inclusion with 120Hz refresh rate at 4K and VRR but it’s only available in Europe. The LX940 and all OLED TVs have the latest iteration of Panasonic’s smart TV OS, My Home Screen 7.0, which supports all major video streaming services such as Netflix and Disney+.

It’s the LX800 that’s getting a UK release and comes with features such as Android TV with built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant for voice control. It also has support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+ Adaptive and Dolby Atmos.

  • LX940 LED (43, 49, 55, 65, 77in – EU only, not UK)
  • LX800 Core LED (43, 50, 55, 65, 75in)
